The Brian Keith Show The Brian Keith show ran two seasons on NBC from September 15, 1972 to August 30, 1974. It had a different title in its first season: The Little People. Total Television describes it as a "forgettable sitcom about a pediatrician in Hawaii." Keith starred as Dr. Sean Jamison. Shelley Fabares played Dr. Anne Jamison, his daughter and his nurse. In 1973 it was retitled The Brian Keith Show. Nancy Kulp was added to the cast as Mrs. Millard Gruber, the landlady. Here is the opening montage.

Vanishing TV Character - Spearchucker Jones Oliver Harmon (Spearchucker) Jones was a surgeon both in the movie and television series MASH. He was portrayed in the TV series by Timothy Brown. Jones was a tent-mate of fellow surgeons Hawkeye Pierce, Trapper John McIntyre, and Frank Burns. However, Spearchucker was shown during only the first five episodes of Season One (1972-73) before vanishing forever. What happened to Spearchucker? MASH's producers dropped him from the show after concluding they would not be able to write enough meaningful episodes for the character once they decided to mainly focus on Hawkeye and Trapper. Furthermore they were told there were no black surgeons assigned to MASH units during the Korean War. (Apparently that was inaccurate.)

San Diego Tank Rampage - 1995 On May 17, 1995, residents of San Diego, CA had their lives and property imperiled by an M-60 Patton tank! The armored vehicle had been stolen from a military base by Shawn Timothy Nelson, a 35-year-old former veteran who was known to have mental stability issues. As this Discovery Network feature shows, for a while law enforcement had absolutely no way to stop the devastating rampage--until Nelson inadvertently disabled the tank himself on a concrete highway median. Police theorize Nelson was on his way to create havoc at a local hospital that he had recently unsuccessfully sued for malpractice.

Andrew Shaw Disallowed Headbutt Goal From Game #2 of the 2015 NHL Western Conference finals, Andrew Shaw of the Chicago Blackhawks 'scores' an overtime goal against the Anaheim Ducks with a creative soccer-style header. It was a play that few fans had ever seen before--and many wondered if it was a legal way to score a goal. It's not. By rule a goal cannot be scored if the puck is deliberately directed into the net with anything other than a player's stick. The goal was properly disallowed. However, many fans think the rules ought to be amended to allow such a play to count as a legitimate goal. Chicago won the game with a goal that actually counted in the third overtime period. This clip is from Hockey Night in Canada's coverage of the game.
