Back in the early 1980s, this short flick was released by Tim Burton. It is a homage to Vincent Price. An actor that Tim Burton felt close towards in his life. This very short movie was the start of Tim Burton's career, in that it attracted the attention of the film community. It worked, mainly thanks to the expertly directed scenes.
As with most of Burton's films, the central focus of the film involved a gloomy storyline with the actor Price, the performer who had then become known for his mysterious roles he took on in television and motion pictures. *E*

Every summer, from visiting NYC, I would get a chance to commute to New Jersey to visit Brigantine Castle. This scary place was great! Not cheap. The early 80s commercial does not do it enough justice though. You had to protect yourself in there from the dark. There was always spot something weird once inside.
If you didn't see it. It saw you.
Sadly, this castle amusement burnt down in the late 80s, thanks to two teenagers who were seen running from the castle.
Kinda upsetting when you've got two who have no respect for others enjoyment. It was a perfectly, impressive looking, tall castle that sat on a pier, that I was able to revisit again and again.
I loved the flash-cuts to their television commercials. This is what made me want to go in the mid 1970s. I wanted to see what was inside the castle aside the Atlantic Ocean. Great location.

Remember? It's the final biggie for Florida's individuals. The men had established themselves then with a cool way all their own.
The memorable tune was the last massive stand for the men. Totally sold for weeks on its 1st outing, mainly thanks to AM. The men achieved six number ones during their partnership. It is best remembered as the one that made the guys depart into separate ways after having success in '75. The following year was as well a fantastic time for the guys. People were driving all over town with sunshine in their ears. Unfortunately, with spending much time at the top, it was the final on the chart, it had actually became the 1st top-charter in the year 1980. A tune that could be heard right through Xmas of '79 into the new year.
Ever since the Seventies, KC (Harry Wayne Casey) has been making himself move; singing and shaking to his fans across stages worldwide. Did you know that the man also released his own material since then too. "All I want" would be worth you're time-give it a try!
Most critics have agreed that his solo work was worthy of being brought on the charts.
The group achieved more in a short time than what most bands achieve in a decade or more.
Today, KC and the rest can be heard in movies, and being sampled in other tunes that you may not even recognise.
They were a group effort that had more hits than others could only dream for in that time. Do you remember highly creditable dance hits, the former groups singer has proceeded on after an amazing revival of KC and the Sunshine Band's hits were played on 70s nostagia stations in the 1990s? The singer was recently seen on "American Idol" in 2009, showing all that he still has the ability to get people on their feet and dance.
Simply fantastic from a band that should of went on with more of the same energy they created on vinyl.
Now, let me concentrate on original bass player Richard Finch. A man also known for his studio production abilities.
Let us learn the truth to the bassist as he was the one who brought an inventive variety of numerous Sunshine Band brass players to the iconic seventies group. I would not want to be ridiculed on here for posting false information, right?
The talented musican has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! With people like this, there is nothing more you can do but be happy for him for being a unique individual. I mean, after all, he was partly responsible responsible for bringing KC and the Sunshine Band's music into our lives, especially with his musical abilities as a songwriter and musician.
Also, you can say as well that Richard Finch brought international acclaim to the group with his ear for on-going funky dance music.
Now with working together with singer Harry Wayne Casey (KC), they both became very successful with their original compositions. You can't deny this fact, or any of these truths to the tune or its history.
Hey, I went to music business school to study history and genres, and getting myself into the industry.
But I found out the truth's with it, and discovering it was not what I thought. Music is better to know as a listener. Hey, I love getting grilled on YRT with questions. What more could one ask for? This is the life of a teacher with an awareness to get asked the unasked. How does one prevent negative surprises online? By doing something uncommon. A nil response. My Motto: I am only going to promote awareness and interest in popular culture for the masses to reflect upon.

Way back in the 1950's, a company called Lever Brothers brought out this cool tasting toothpaste called "Stripe" onto the city-suburbanite market.
Many already were aware of various brands already established; "Colgate-Palmolive" and their highly known toothpaste, they were one of the prime sellers of tooth products at the time on television. The Lever Brothers wanted to get a piece of the pie in sales with their brand. In those days, everyone was buying Colgate's Dental Cream due to the informative commercials being repeated often to informative seeking viewers. Another brand, Procter & Gamble's "Crest" was as well a high selling product at the time. Choices were already out on the selling market thanks to the increase of television sales in the 1950s.
Stripe got into the advertising game by sponsoring the 1959-1960 season of "The George Gobel Show", which turned out to be his last year on air with this show. With advertising, there was money to be made with showing products on highly viewed television showings. it was a proven factor in market testing around the country of America.
Another competititor on television was
Lever's "Lux" on Jack Benny's weekly show. It was in 1961 that Stripe had to make some changes due to its heavy competition. The outer box was repackaged to copy Colgate's toothpaste, and the company focused on the homemakers instead to win over new sales to families. Utilizing television was what drove sales in the early years of broadcasting.

Alright, I aim to please on YRT with all of you.
Here is the successful Australian group the Bee Gee's with their hit single "Lonely Days". This performance in from the year 1975; showing all three brothers how they became more and more popular throughtout the seventies thanks to televised household exposure on programs such as this one. Originally recorded in 1970 with reknown producer Robert Stigwood, the "Lonely Days" recording really made a name for themselves amongst worldwide radio listeners, especially on the all-important American market. Sales figures on Bee Gees albums rose, with much thanks from their loyal fans who heard their harmonies vary on each album. With having such popularity, the three's continuity went right into the 1990s and beyond.
The Bee Gees have maintained their name in our song-driven pop-culture due to listenership from dedicated fans. Remember, the "oldschool" feeling is always 24/7 with me.

Okay, this here is a cool tune from the man who went into the popular culture world, Miami Vice's Don Johnson. With this mid-eighties clip, many were surprised after hearing the entire recording that he could actually sing. This album did generate a good deal of positive publicity for the actor who had a hit series that was a national hit. In this clip, the son of Frank Zappa provides some chunky guitar riffs throughout the dramatic lyrics. With 'Heartbeat', radio stations picked up on it immediately in 1986. This enabled the single 'Heartbeat' to go into the Top five on the charts. Don garnered a significant amount of quality airtime for the single on television too. With this one album, Don scored a few big-time songwriters to help him out on the album, Tom Petty included. Appearing also, popular musicians added their recording input on selected tunes, those included, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, and country star Willie Nelson. This according to the album credits. 'Heartbeat' was popular enough to spawn a second radio single. The beginning and end of this clip are quite good, this was what gave it much appeal to his fans worldwide.
Don Johnson was "all-star" in the eighties, thanks to the Florida-filmed television show. After a few short years, another album was released.
'Heartbeat' continued to be talked about, and was eventually re-released due to his on-going popularity on syndicated channels and the all-important cable stations.
The follow-up to this 1986 album was titled 'Let It Roll', which was brought out in 1989. This second album was for the fan of the actor/performer. It didn't fare as well as 'Heartbeat' on the charts.

Hi ya! Now, let me tell you about something that you may of heard of before, but have recently forgot about. Bubblicious! Remember that? For years, they had over 20 different product flavors to chew on. Ever chewed on Bubblicious? Cadbury Adams is the company that manufactured this chewing gum for the masses. I remember in the late 1970s, seeing it in by the check-out counter. I bet you didn't know that most of the flavors that they made were stopped and then brought out again repackaged in a different colour design. Nice idea. I love the look to this eighties weekend commercial. The narration is great over the animation. The merging of the animation with the colours, and this future-like score is what made sales figures to this brand jump up, thanks as well to youthful television viewership.

What is love? Do you remember Howard Jones? Do you still remember 1984? Do you remember what you had for lunch last Monday?
Do you remember the whole second British Invasion?
Huh? Remember the "New Wave" of music that took over the radio and television in the eighties?
Hard to avoid any of it.
Once a resident of Canada in his younger days, this Welsh born singer came out with a great song then titled 'New Song'; ironically enough in the year 1984. This was from the hit album "Human's Lib". Howard's album sold better than most other bands these days, due to its strong promotion from those behind him. In the 80s, Howard Jones was a pop music star thanks to the albums success.
At that time, television was showing tune filled clips almost every hour on various programs everywhere. This was what enabled him to become more than he could ever think of.
I remembered recently, I was spending a great deal of time in Britain then, so I had heard all this British 80s music before it went overseas in 1984.
With North America, Howard Jones went into radio play during the summertime of 1984; 'What Is Love' hit the all-important pop sales chart thanks to the catchy lyrics. Much of the success to this album was thanks to the production duties from producer Rupert Hine. Check the album credits of your favorite vinyl for his name.
In the early eighties, Howard Jones influencial look became cool for many teens, and this gave Jones the opportunity to play various cities with all the other trendy groups that came out of Britain at the time.
These days, Howard Jones still devotes his life towards the music he has performed in the past years.
You still like him? Howard has just recorded new music for 2009. Catch him on tour. *E*

In the seventies, Casablanca Records were great at marketing one of their most unique looking groups, I am speaking now about KISS. The album "Love Gun" was recorded by the hidden personality filled makeup band that had its influences from American 1960s rock n' roll. On immediate release in the summer of 1977, this album was 1,000,000 copies store bought. That is called 'platinum' in American music business unit sales. The band were at the height of their success with this album. "Love Gun" sold more than a fair number of times, eventually reaching far beyond triple platinum digits. Some complained that this KISS band was just a gimmick, but eventually KISS had proved their critics wrong; simply showing that they were world re-known in a few short years. Critics put this band in the same category as a toy. Doesn't sound very dignified when the group was as big as anything at the time on television or produced on a movie screen. The group today has not gone into obscurity like so many others have ended. Still together, and entertaining new and old fans in today's entertainment market. Casablanca were the happiest in the mid 70s with a roster of other bands/singers they quickly signed, one of them was Donna Summer; a woman who was known for high-quality dance hits. Success came quickly with signings to the company, this was thanks to the president of Casablanca Records, a man known as Neil Bogart. With KISS, he was convinced that they would be huge. The marketing techniques from the company worked on most every occasion. Many parents freaked once they saw the marketing techniques that were being used to sell this band to the youth of the world. Hey, "oldschool" is in with me 24/7.

Remember '84? She didn't last long enough for many of us in the eyes of that year.
Brought out to the masses with thanks from another individual. Listen to the explanation.
We all know who that was. Very famous.
Both associated closely after a chance meeting at a nineteen-eighty-two celeb presentation.
The self-styled lady really thought she was what he was looking for. He began adding others to a new dream concept he wanted badly. Making sure that each dressed alike. Sexy and very dirty. The idea about his new business venture was that they would be known for having suggestive content in their words. Both her and the discoverer were romantically together for quite a while.
Tele-critics were surprised to see her a number of times where she continued to surprise viewers with willful sexiness.
Eventually, the Canadian decided to leave the entire association and go solo with herself only. As it had turned out with her former group of singers, there was a second effort released, but it was known to be a rare find in stores. You had to be a genuine fan to get your hands on a copy.
In nineteen-eighty-four, and nineteen-eighty-six the lady brought out two solos, both were popular enough to get on the ever important chart. Singles were brought out from her till 1985. She made appearances in film and television; one of the them, a 1987 episode of "Miami Vice" that was worth watching.
Every episode of that show was well-made.
With each year, fans wanted more from the ex-model now performer.
In nineteen-eighty-eight she did a recording for the flick "Action Jackson" that she appeared in as well, then for personal reasons left the business for good. Her stage-name is never mentioned. Religion has become her focus.
In the appearance, we have a once "famous" Californian radio/television personality. Do you know his name? Take note of the professional dancers around this lady. One of them is really great with his legs. I've never seen anybody move like that.
