Seeing all of the submissions for western TV series inspired me to jump on the bandwagon.
The television series ran from September 10, 1955 to September 1, 1975 on CBS for 635 episodes. To this day, it is the longest run of any scripted series with continuing characters in American primetime television.

A vintage Topper Toys Johnny Seven One Man Army produced in 1964. The top selling toy of 1964! It was called the One Man Army because the gun has 7 functions. A complete one in the box commands top dollar! The gun was released during the Vietnam War and I guess they were getting Johnny ready for WAR. During this era, many televisions shows had a war theme, such as Combat and others. Topper Toys was a divsion of Deluxe Reading Corporation who only sold toys on the top shelves of grocery stores and drug stores (out of the reach of our grubby little hands) while Topper Toys sold there line in toy stores. I remember bugging the heck out of my parents to get me those toys and most cost a weeks salary. They don't make em like this any more!!!! It would be a Politically Incorrect! Where's OSAMA???

A mint in the box Remco Whirlybird. Remco made many variations of this whirlybird. This is the Monkey Division variation. Monkey Division was a line of toys Remco made and touted it as their "Guerilla War" line of toys. The had helmets, guns, rifles, bazookas, etc. Another wildly popular 60s toy put out during the Vietnam era. Toys glorifying war began to wane when the reports of scores of soliders getting killed filled our TV screens and the "Living Room War" we viewed on the news became unpopular, also it was more fun to make Love not War and the hippie era was ushered in. Parents began to object to toys glorifying war. The set also came with 25 soldiers, a tank, a jeep and truck. The whirlybird also carried all the stuff and had a working cargo hoist too. You are looking at a rarity. The soliders etc. are not shown but are still in their original package. I've often wondered how some of these toys these toys remain unplayed with? Perhaps it is old store stock and I've also heard that sometimes parents would leave the room of a deceased child the way it was when they passed. That is kind of creepy to me.

Hubley Manufacturing Co., of Lancaster, PA, produced an array of great cast iron toys for many years. Toys like cars, trucks, cap guns, trains, planes and even dollhouse kitchen appliances. Here is a restored Curtiss P-40 Warhawk from the 40's.

The band began as a politically charged, sometimes experimental rock band and later moved to a softer sound, becoming famous for producing a number of hit ballads. They had a steady stream of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Second only to the Beach Boys, Chicago, in terms of singles and albums, is one of the longest running and most successful U.S. pop/rock and roll groups. According to
Billboard, Chicago was the leading U.S. singles charting group during the 1970s. In 1973 the group's manager, produced and directed Electra Glide in Blue, a movie about an Arizona motorcycle policeman. The movie starred Robert Blake, and featured Cetera, Kath, Loughnane, and Parazaider in supporting roles. The group also appeared prominently on the movie's soundtrack. 1978 was a tragic and transitional year for Chicago. The year began with an acrimonious split with long-time manager James William Guercio. Then, in late January, guitarist/singer/songwriter Terry Kath died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound (reportedly incurred while cleaning his gun), delivering a devastating blow to the band. Another version describes Kath's drunken last words to the band: "Don't worry, guys. It isn't even loaded. See?".

1967, Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot perfom "Bonnie and Clyde".
They both look so cool
Music and lyrics written by Serge Gainsbourg:
translated here:
You’ve read the story
Of Jesse James
How he lived
How he died
You liked that, didn’t you?
Yet you still ask for more
And well,
Listen to the story
Of Bonnie and Clyde
Then here it is,
Clyde has a girlfriend
She’s beautiful, her first name
Is Bonnie
And the two of them form
The Barrow gang
Their names
Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
When I knew Clyde
Before all that
He was a loyal guy
Honest and right
You’ve got to believe
That it’s society
Which definitely ruined him
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
All the things that they wrote
About her and me
They claim we kill
In cold blood
It’s not funny
But we really have
To silence
The one that starts to scream
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
Every time a policeman
Gets killed
Or a garage or a bank
Is attacked
For the police
It’s not a mystery
Signed, Clyde Barrow
Bonnie Parker
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
Now every time
We try to rest
To get comfortable
In an apartment
Within three days
The tac tac tac's back
The machine guns
Return to the attack
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
One of these days
We will fall together
And I don’t care
It’s for Bonnie that I tremble
It doesn’t matter
If they get my skin (kill me)
Me Bonnie
I tremble for Clyde Barrow
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde
Anyway
They couldn’t have stayed longer
The only solution
Was to die
But more than one followed them
Into hell
When they died
Barrow and Bonnie Parker
Bonnie and Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde

ARCADIA, Calif., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Richard Knerr, co-founder of Wham-O, which gave the world the Hula Hoop and the Frisbee, has died at an Arcadia, Calif., hospital at 82.
Knerr died Monday at Methodist Hospital after suffering a stroke earlier in the day at his home, his wife, Dorothy, told the Los Angeles Times.
Knerr and his boyhood buddy Arthur "Spud" Melin started the company in 1948 in Pasadena. They named the enterprise Wham-O for the sound that their first product, a slingshot, made when it hit its target.
Dozens of toys followed that often bore playful names like Superball, Slip 'N Slide and the Water Wiggle. But, they hit it big with a redesigned bamboo ring used for exercise in Australia that became one of the most popular fads of all time -- the Hula Hoop.
Knerr and Melin figure they sold 25 million hoops in four months in the late 1950s. It had one major fault: it never wore out.
In 1958, while the hoop was going great guns, the team came up with the Frisbee, another wildly popular fad that sold an estimated 100 million over the next 30 years.
In addition to his wife, Knerr, who was born June 30, 1925, in San Gabriel,Calif., was survived by three children, two stepchildren and eight grandchildren.
Melin died in 2002.
