The band began as a politically charged, sometimes experimental rock band and later moved to a softer sound, becoming famous for producing a number of hit ballads. They had a steady stream of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Second only to the Beach Boys, Chicago, in terms of singles and albums, is one of the longest running and most successful U.S. pop/rock and roll groups. According to
Billboard, Chicago was the leading U.S. singles charting group during the 1970s. In 1973 the group's manager, produced and directed Electra Glide in Blue, a movie about an Arizona motorcycle policeman. The movie starred Robert Blake, and featured Cetera, Kath, Loughnane, and Parazaider in supporting roles. The group also appeared prominently on the movie's soundtrack. 1978 was a tragic and transitional year for Chicago. The year began with an acrimonious split with long-time manager James William Guercio. Then, in late January, guitarist/singer/songwriter Terry Kath died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound (reportedly incurred while cleaning his gun), delivering a devastating blow to the band. Another version describes Kath's drunken last words to the band: "Don't worry, guys. It isn't even loaded. See?".

From the tv show Hullabaloo in 1965. Bobby Goldsboro started out in the early sixties as a guitarist with Roy Orbison. During his three years with Orbison he traveled all over the world and even toured with The Beatles. In 1964 he began his solo career by recording the first of a string of sixteen top-forty hits, “See the Funny Little Clown.” One of his first concert bookings had him opening for the Rolling Stones on their first U.S. tour. More million-selling hits followed, setting the stage for 1968 and the classic, “Honey,” which became the largest-selling record in the world. “Watching Scotty Grow,” “Little Green Apples” and “With Pen in Hand” have also become classics.

Frederick Anthony Picariello, or as he was known to us, Freddy Cannon, was born in Boston in 1940. When he was very young he learned to play a guitar and in high school he formed his own band. As a vocalist, he copied the style of Little Richard. He eventually signed with Swan Records in Philadelphia, a recording studio in which master music promoter Dick Clark had an interest, and who brought him national exposure through numerous appearances on American Bandstand. In 1959 he changed his name to Freddy Cannon, and was dubbed "Boom Boom" because of his thundering musical renditions, he had three Top 10 hits. Freddy also played himself in the final episode of a teen soap opera called Never Too Young in 1966. He now lives in Tarzana, California, and at 67, still continues to perform in concert. I still remember listening to his songs on a little GE transistor radio...those were the days huh?

Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen (born January 26, 1955), is a Dutch-American guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter and producer, most famous as the lead guitarist and co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen.
Many of us were saddened when Valerie Bertinelli married Eddie Van Halen on April 11, 1981.On July 9, 2002, they announced that they had been separated since October 2001. She filed for divorce on December 5, 2005 which was finalized on December 20, 2007.
During the late 1990s Eddie Van Halen was treated twice for tongue and mouth cancer. During an interview with Howard Stern on September 8, 2006, Eddie claimed that holding a metal pick in his mouth 12-14 hours per day while immersed in the electromagnetic radiation of his music studio caused his tongue cancer. He said he continues to smoke because "cigarettes didn't cause the cancer", despite the fact that they could in fact contribute to the cancer's potential for resurgence.

In 1957 the group formed when Dion DiMucci joined The Belmonts - Carlo Mastrangelo, Freddie Milano, and Angelo D'Aleo - in late 1957. In 1958 they recorded 'I Wonder Why', which made it to #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Dion and The Belmonts appeared for the first time on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. This success won Dion and the Belmonts their first major tour in late 1958, with The Coasters, Buddy Holly and Bobby Darin. This was followed up by the 'Winter Dance Party' tour with Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. On February 2, 1959, after playing at Clear Lake, Ohio, Dion decided that he couldn't afford the $36 cost of a flight to the next show. The plane crashed, Buddy Holly and the other stars were killed. Even after that time the hits kept coming for the group. In 2004, Dion gave a live performance at the Tropicana in Atlantic City with Dion (lead vocals, electric and acoustic guitars) Butch Barbella (keyboards, backing vocals), Louie Colleti (backing vocals), Jamie "King" Cotton (sax, percussion, backing vocals), Al Korosy (lead guitar), and Charlie Powers (drums, vocals.) Though this performance wasn't with the Belmonts, Dion sounded just like we remember him after 47 years! He's keeping R&R and Doo-Wop alive!

This is one of the highlights of their 1994 album, 'Hell Freezes Over'. Great lyrics, great rhythm, great vocals from Don Henley, and great guitar work from Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Don Felder

Cliff Richard, was Britain's answer to Elvis. He never made it big in the States; as was then the benchmark for any performer; So was resigned to European fame and stardom. Still going to this day, he keeps a semblance of his youthful looks and has earned the nickname, the Peter Pan Of Pop. With him on this video are a group of musicians called the Shadows the leader of which, is Hank Marvin. This group also went on to find fame with instrumental hits, Hank's guitar doing what you could call the vocals. This song was also used in the film of the same name in which he starred
