Transformers The anticipation of the new movie release has indeed released some great memories of Saturday morning cartoons. I for one do intend to go see the new movie because of all the memories of watching as a child.

Revlon Ad Revlon was founded in the midst of the Great Depression, 1932, by Charles Revson and his brother Joseph, along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the "L" in the REVLON name...and it all started with a single product ~ a new type of nail emamel!

Upstairs Downstairs Upstairs, Downstairs was a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning British drama set in a large townhouse in Edwardian London that depicted the lives of the servants "downstairs" and their masters "upstairs". It ran on ITV for five series from 1971 to 1975. First shown in the US in 1974. Upstairs, Downstairs attempted to portray life in a high-status house set against the events of early 20th century. Great events are featured prominently in the episodes but minor or gradual changes are noted as well. It stands as a document of the social and technological changes that occurred between 1903 and 1930. The lives of the servants are integral to the story.

The Brady Bunch In 1970, due to the success of the Brady's ABC Friday night companion show The Partridge Family, (about a musical family) some episodes began to feature the Brady Kids as a singing group. Though only a handful of shows (Doe-Ri-Me in the third season, Amateur Nite in the fourth and The New Johnny Bravo in the fifth were the only episodes to feature the Brady Bunch children singing) actually featured them singing and performing, the Brady Bunch began to produce albums. Though they never charted as high as the Partridge Family, they began touring the USA during the summer hiatus from the show, headlining as The Kids from the Brady Bunch. Although only Barry Williams and Maureen McCormick stayed in the music business as adults, Christopher Knight readily admits he felt he could not sing and recalls having great anxiety about performing live on stage with the cast.

Veronica Lake Lake's biggest year in films was 1942, when she starred in a string of hit films for Paramount, including Sullivan's Travels, This Gun for Hire, and I Married a Witch... i saw here in "I Married A Witch" and she was GREAT. . really tiny, too. . .i wondered if this is where they got the idea for "Bewitched."

Soap Box Racing Now here's a real childhood memory for me. Locally we called these Bogies or carts, which was a bit confusing as this could also mean something else. A set of old pram wheels a couple of planks of wood, a bit of rope and of coarse a soap box or a crate of some kind. You then had the makings of some great fun and a quick way to accept pain. Tell the kids of today about this and you get that well practised blank expression.
