Gerry Cooney Fouls Larry Holmes One of the best heavyweight championship fights of the 1980s was Gerry Cooney's attempt to win the title from champion Larry Holmes in June 1982. Although it was a very competitive fight (won by Holmes in the 13th round) it is most famous for Gerry Cooney's egregious foul late in round nine. Just watching it will make every male cringe in pain! Ouch! (The tenth round is also part of this clip.)

Gerry Cheevers One of hockey's most identifiable goalie masks belonged to Gerry Cheevers of the Boston Bruins. His make-believe 'stitches' were a statement: They represented the real stitches that would have scarred Cheevers' face had he not worn the mask. Every time a puck struck Cheevers' mask, Boston's trainer Frosty Forrestall would add another row of stitches to it.

Barry Williams Sings Although this actor was heard a few times to raise his voice in song during the TV series which made him famous, he mostly kept to acting while he grew up in front of our eyes.

Hes In Town - The Rockin Berries The Rockin' Berries was a "Brumbeat group" from Birmingham, England, which by the early 60's ended up having two lead singers. One was Geoff Turton, who later went on to a solo career, then calling himself: Jefferson. But while still with the Rockin' Berries, they were heard by an American record producer who suggested they cover a Carole King Gerry Goffin song recently released by the Tokens "He's In Town". The Rockin' Berries version is very similar to that from The Tokens, and a favorite I really haven't chosen yet. In England, The Rockin' Berries actually had a greater hit with their version, Number 3 than did The Tokens in the States, Number 43. Look for their version under The Tokens.

Hes In Town - The Tokens In addition to their big Hit, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, The Tokens recorded several other Hits. This one - another great Carole King-Gerry Goffin song - He's In Town - was also covered by an English group - The Rockin' Berries. Check their version out under The Rockin' Berries; they're awfully similar in sound and both versions are swell.
