here's a little trivia for you! the original name was going to be "Pretzel," but they dropped that when a toy dog came out with the same name! They were also going to use dice, but put the big spinner in at the last moment . . also, Johnny Carson featured the game on the May 3, 1966 episode of the Tonight Show and one of the guests was Eva Gabor in a low cut dress!!

Even though most of you may not know who this man was, there are many who do, and who will always think of him with a great deal of honor and respect, I am one of them. Simon Wiesenthal, was a Holocaust survivor who helped track down numerous Nazi war criminals following World War II and spent the later decades of his life fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all people. He died on Sept. 20, 2005 at the age of 96. The contribution of this man to history is best described as keeping the memory of the Holocaust alive during the crucial years.
In the 1950s, the US was busy with the Cold War, while Israel had its own troubles with the Arabs. He just took the job. It was a job no one else wanted. He was the only full-time Nazi hunter. A day after World War II ended, Wiesenthal handed over a crumbling list of Nazis to US Army intelligence. He did not want to be a Nazi hunter, he was an architect by profession. However, the Holocaust forced him into action; 89 members of his family were murdered by the Nazis. He couldn't forget, he believed someone had to go after the criminals. In the last couple of years his health deteriorated, but his mind remained clear. Aside from Adolph Eichmann, among the 1,100 Nazi war criminals Wiesenthal helped bring to justice, were the commanders of Treblinka and Sobibor, and also the Nazi who arrested Anne Frank, Karl Silberbauer. More than anyone else in the world, he represented the belief that anti-Semitism and crimes against humanity are not mitigated with passing time, nor are they ever forgiven.
"May he rest in eternal peace knowing he did what was right."

Rita Hayworth was born Margarita Carmen Cansino in Brooklyn NY, on October 17, 1918. She found fame as an American actress during the 1940's as the era's leading sex symbol. Although there was prejudice against Hispanic actors at the time, she is now widely regarded to be one of the first Hispanic-American "sex goddess" of "Golden Age" Hollywood with leading roles in film.
Rita left her film career in 1948 to marry Prince Aly Khan, the son of the Aga Khan, the leader of the Ismaili sect of Shia Islam.
After the marriage collapsed in 1951, Rita returned to America to star in a string of hit films, Affair in Trinidad, Salome, and Miss Sadie Thompson. Then she was off the big screen for another four years, due mainly to a tumultuous marriage to singer Dick Haymes. In 1957 she starred in Fire Down Below. Her last musical was Pal Joey. She got good reviews for her acting in such films as Separate Tables, and The Story on Page One, and continued working throughout the 1960s. It was during that time that she suffered an early onset of Alzheimer's disease, which was not diagnosed until 1980. In 1964 she appeared with John Wayne in Circus World and in 1972 she made her last film, The Wrath of God. She died of complications from Alzheimer's disease in 1987 at age 68.

One of the most famous of Frank Sinatra's earlier performances was a 10 minute short made in 1945, entitled The House I Live In. It's purpose was to raise awareness of religious prejudice and to oppose anti-Semitism at the end of World War II. It received a special Academy Award in 1946, as well as a Golden Globe Award.

During the First World War, the British army executed more than 300 of its own soldiers who were convicted of cowardice. Many of these troops had suffered mental breakdowns because of the horrors of trench warfare. A movement is now afoot to have them posthumously pardoned.

A big thing in the late 70's and early 80's and I'm afraid to say, making a comeback. At least the strip sun visor with the name of you and your current partner are consigned to history, or is it?

Here is the original theatrical trailer from the First World War flick Paths of Glory (1957). Directed by Stanley Kubrick, it tells the story of inhuman French generals ordering a suicidal attack on an impregnable German position. When the attack fails, for the sake of morale and discipline, three soldiers are chosen to be executed for cowardice. One is selected randomly, another is chosen because he is 'socially undesirable,' and the third is chosen because the general has a personal issue with him. Kirk Douglas gives a great performance as regimental commander Colonel Dax who tries to stop the insanity. This film was banned in France until 1975. (It was also banned in Germany, where it was filmed, because the German government did not want to harm its diplomatic relations with France.)

Here are some actresses who have aged so gracefully and remain beautiful through the years. Set to 'Only Time' by Enya. I believe only a few of them have had cosmetic surgery. Includes Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, the Redgrave sisters, Tyne Daly, Shirley MacLaine, Candice Bergen, Katharine Hepburn, Joanne Wooward, Glenn Close, Mariette Hartley, Mary Tyler Moore, Julie Andrews, Susan Sarandon, Barbara Babcock, Cloris Leachman, and Goldie Hawn.
