I Remember Elie Weisel Dedicated to another famous Holocaust survivor, Nazi hunter and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Elie Wiesel was born at Sighet, Maramures county, Romania On September 30, 1928. He is the author of over 40 books, the best known of which is Night, a memoir that describes his experiences during the Holocaust and his imprisonment in several concentration camps. Wiesel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. The Norwegian Nobel Committee called him a "messenger to mankind," noting that through his struggle to come to terms with "his own personal experience of total humiliation and of the utter contempt for humanity shown in Hitler's death camps," as well as his "practical work in the cause of peace," Wiesel has delivered a powerful message "of peace, atonement and human dignity" to humanity. On November 30, 2006 Wiesel received an honorary knighthood in London, England in recognition of his work toward raising Holocaust education in the United Kingdom. Music "Hatikvah", (Israeli National Anthem) performed by Barbra Streisand. I'm thankful to be able to share this with you.

New York City Bike Messengers I only put this up for people that went to NYC to jar their memory. When they crossed the street, they stopped to let by, what they thought was some nut ready to hit them. 1st way to spot a tourist, and afterwards they probally saw something they thought wasn't possible on a bike!Because you threw their timing off. When in fact they have your walking pace timed for an opening between your legs if they could fit!My heroes! In my early 20's I road raced hoping for a career, found out I was average. In my late 20's I lived across the river in Bayonne took my bike over on the commuter ferry for a job interview for messenger. So before I went I fueled up (too much) to "show em' my stuff!" Never made it;Good thing because you need total focus and concentration.Besides playing & listining to music and riding like this. Nothing has given me this rush of adrenaline and dopamine.A silver medal in the olympics was won by a messenger, they mainly use track bikes with no brakes, hold on to cabs, cabbies don't mind. For that slingshot effect. And when I found out in the 80's they could make as much as $800.00 a wk. I hopped on the ferry.

The Diving Horses of Atlantic City “Ladies and Gentleman, Dimah the Wonder Horse is going to dive into this small tank of water. Her rider Miss Olive Gelnaw will guide Dimah during her sixty-foot drop in to the tank. Now we need you to be very quiet, it takes all of her concentration to get it right, or they will miss the tank and fall to their death in the ocean.”

Concentration Final Episode - 1973 On March 23, 1973 the memory-based game show Concentration ended its hugely successful run of nearly 15 years as an NBC daytime program. In this clip host Bob Clayton bids a kind farewell to the show's loyal fans. Clayton hosted the show from 1969 to 1973. It had previously been hosted by Hugh Downs from 1958 through 1965. Clayton was the show's announcer when Downs was the host. Jack Barry, Art James, and Bill Mazer all hosted the show in the years between Downs' and Clayton's tenures. A few months into 1969, Ed McMahon replaced Clayton--which proved to be an extremely unpopular decision. When ratings started to tank, Clayton was brought back as host. Clayton died of cardiac arrest in 1979; he was only 57. Interesting bit of trivia: Concentration was the last game show to employ an organist to provide live music.

Jackpot - NBC Game Show Here's a short clip from the only known surviving episode of the original NBC version of the riddle-based game show Jackpot (which ran from January 1974 to September 1975). It aired on January 3, 1975 and shows the largest "super jackpot" ever won: $38,750. That was an enormous sum by game show standards of the time. Geoff Edwards was the host. Edwards' funky wardrobe was the brainchild of NBC executive Lin Bolen--much maligned for axing Jeopardy! and Concentration--who wanted her network to have "studly" game show hosts.
