SuperTed is a Welsh language animated television series from the United Kingdom that first aired on 1 November 1982. It was commissioned by Welsh television channel S4C, and later dubbed into English for BBC1 and dubbed into Irish for TG4. The series won numerous awards, including the 1987 BAFTA for best animation. In 1984, Superted became the first British cartoon series to be bought by Disney, to be aired on the Disney cable channel in the US.
