High Anxiety TV trailer 1978 Mel Brooks followed up his hit comedies "Blazing Saddles","Young Frankenstein" and "Silent Movie" with "High Anxiety", a 1978 spoof of Alfred Hitchcock thrillers that once again featured many of his regular performers: Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman, Ron Carey, Charlie Callas and Jack Riley - with Brooks in the lead role. Future Academy Award winning director Barry Levinson both co-wrote the film and also appeared as an extremely agitated bell hop.

Miss Jones - 1971 Raised in Smithton, Pennsylvania, Miss Jones was born to be something more than who her parents named her after, Miss Temple. The old-time actress? Yes, that is correct. I wonder how many daughters were named after Miss Temple? Did you know that Miss Jones was singing at six-of-age in a Methodist Church Choir and then took voice lessons to further herself? It was from there she left for NYC, that was in the year of 1953. New York gave her a start in the right door with a Broadway part in the iconic "South Pacific" show. This made her someone to look out for. California was next in her soon-to-be extensive career. Have you seen her in any films? Can you think of any now? This all began in 1955, which is hard to believe, that is if you have ever followed her over the years. She actually had her first broad-casted appearance in 1950. She was a real favourite for many, including Burt Lancaster, who was responsible for getting her a part in a story that gave her an iconic golden man-statue. You do know what I am talking of now, right? Did you know one of her sons, Sean, a pretty busy guy with production duties in the same field as her own long-time career. You do know of the other one, Shaun? Just how many films has she been in? Thirty-three on the big screen, and then a further amount of tele-films that were shown from time to time, straight through to today. It was in the year 1970, she made her tele-debut in that great show that we all recall her from as the mother. It really made her a star. This included working alongside her stepson for four long years. The groovy interludes were what made it so unique for us, one might include "Come On, Get Happy" - but I could name a bunch more, right? After this all ended in 1974, she went on with furthering her tele-film appearances with "The Lives of Jenny Dolan" - among many others. Do you remember something named "Shirley," that would be from the end of that decade? It didn't last long enough due to getting a poor response. Have you seen her on Drew Carey? She was in at least several of the stories. How about on stage? She has on her resume nineteen performances that 1st began in 1953, thanks to her well-trained voice for high ranging parts that never failed. Broadway was her winner. That is Shirley. By the way, do you recall when the revived "T.I.Y.L." was hosted by Joseph Campanella in the early 1980s? It was originally aired for nine years, up until '61. Later, it was given a second chance twice. This explains why Joseph stepped in at times filling in for Ralph, giving a more modern feel for those at home. *E*

1924 - 2012: Jonathan Frid AKA Barnabas Collins - R.I.P. It all began in early summer, the sixth year of the '60s, abruptly ending in the spring of '71. Remember? I have realized these past days, the tempered character was really leaving behind an actual legacy for the Canadian when he came into our late weekday afternoons @ three o' clock looking for romance. Even @ four. But that would depend on where you were livin' at that time in your part of the country. We know, there was absolutely nothing remotely like it then. That said, it was shifted to an earlier time for about a year until it was returned back. It would be '67 for JF to finally appear more and more deliberately due to popularity. A time I remember too well. Still, to this day, I have and will always have an affinity for Jonathan, in close to all of the one thousand two hundred and twenty-five dark and gloom-filled fictional stories, that all of us were led to believe that he arose in at the actual Carey Mansion in Rhode Island, Newport. The value of his opportunity actually happened at the story that was numbered @ 211. A perfect accompaniment at the time. All of a sudden, he could be seen on magazine racks for months. Recall? How's that for a full lowdown. I realize, that this would depend on our true age then. Of course, the large property would be fictionalized for dramatic purposes. Did you know that the area used away from the residence was taken in a part of Essex, found in the state of Connecticut. Would you believe, Jonathan had strong connections to a family-run construction co. in his actual life. The company does have a long family history in the Niagara region in Canada. There is even a street named after his family name where he grew up and eventually decided on a life away from his hometown. All-True. So, how many stories was he actually seen in? Five hundred and ninety-four. Some of them not in B&W. Even after all the time that has passed since, he may remain a favorite for many of you for years more. It should as well be noted, he often participated on stage, an area that he felt more comfortable in doing when not encouraged to appear in the dark looking for those he often surprised with fear. Later in life, Jonathan, he was also known to head to across-country conventions from time to time to recite amusing stories and dramatically inspired readings among other witty things. Do you know where articles from all of this are now? *E*
