A little slice of American history from the Edison Black Maria studio from November of 1894, shows the real life Annie Oakley, shooting fixed targets and tossed glass balls. Truly a fascinating little piece of film that bridges the real Wild West with a theme that was to run through countless fictional movies in the century to follow. The only problem I had with this was her close proximity to the targets.

A masterpiece of off the wall comedy, Airplane stars Robert Hays as an exfighter pilot forced to take over the control of an airliner when the flight crew succumbs to food poisoning, Julie Hagerty as his girlfriend, stewardess, co-pilot, and a cast of all-stars including Peter Graves, Leslie Nielson, Robert Stack and Lloyd Bridges. This film became a cult classic. I was never able to see these actors in quite the same way again lol

This is a cast photo from Diff'rent Strokes, a popular NBC sitcom that ran from 1978 through 1985. The show was about a Park Avenue millionaire widower who decides to adopt two black kids. (I'm sure that happens all the time!) The cst members were Todd Bridges as Willis, Conrad Bain as Mr. Drummond, Dana Plato as Kimberley, and Gary Coleman as Arnold. Today the show is cynically remembered for the legal and social troubles that befell its youthful stars. A Johnny Carson Carnac routine summed it up best: The answer is coffee, donuts, and a Diff'rent Strokes cast member. The question is name three things you find in the back seat of a police car!

One Hundred and Twenty-five years after it's construction, the Brooklyn Bridge remains a powerful symbol of engineering might and imagination, and a revered fixture in the landscape of the nation's largest city. And it can still attract a crowd, like the one at the bridge's 125th birthday blowout Thursday night, May 22, 2008, which featured fireworks, a Navy flyover, a colorful new lighting scheme, a musical tribute to honor the storied span, and even a birthday cake in the shape of the bridge.

Seen through the lense of some of this country finest photographers of the
20th Century as commissioned by Farm Security Administration.
These are among the most famous documentary photographs ever produced. Created by a group of U.S. government photographers, the images show Americans in every part of the nation. In the early years, the project emphasized rural life and the negative impact of the Great Depression, farm mechanization, and the Dust Bowl.
