Born Sofia Villani Scicolone, in Rome Italy on September 20, 1934. An illegitimate child from a poor home in Naples, she became a teenage beauty queen and model. Her film debut was as an extra. She came under contract to film producer Carlo Ponti, later her husband, and blossomed as an actress. An international career followed and she won an Oscar for La Ciociara, (1961, translation Two Women). Frequently appearing with Marcello Mastroianni, her many films include The Millionairess (1961) and Marriage Italian Style (1964). In 1979 she published Sophia Loren: Living and Loving (with A E Hotchner) which was filmed for television as Sophia Loren: Her Own Story (1980), in which she played herself and her mother. She received an honorary Academy Award in 1991.
How she stays so gorgeous is anyone's guess, but being Sicilian myself, I would be willing to bet there's something in the olive oil, no kidding. In any case, I better get me a few barrels of it lol

The house was built in 1890, served as an immigrant hotel, sat in decline for decades. In 1944, hosted tourists and immigrants from different countries. It is near Puerto Madero and in the heart of the city. The hotel has been named after its first owner, a French man. Was finally transformed into a modest but carefully restored 25-room B&B. It has high ceilings, carpeted rooms and loads of ornate trim work.
The original iron elevator is a work of art and still functions, but you'll have to climb the wooden staircase from street level yourself. Modest stained-glass ceilings adorn the hallway.

Adolf Eichmann, one of the architects of the Holocaust, is found guilty of crimes against humanity at his trial in Israel. Eichmann, who was sentenced to death, had been living in Buenos Aires under an assumed name. He was captured by Israeli secret service agents and spirited out of Argentina. The Argentine government was furious with Israel for violating its 'sovereign rights,' but allowed Israel to try Eichmann for the sake of justice.
