I always liked this game show. The Joker's Wild was a popular program that ran on CBS from 1972 through 1975 and in syndication from 1976 through 1986. It is notable for the return to television of host Jack Barry who left TV after the scandal on his 1950s game show Twenty-One. After Barry died in May 1984 he was replaced as host by Bill Cullen. This clip is from a 1979 show. What a quick game!

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in 1975. At the time this song was recorded, the group had gone through many changes and Valli was the only member remaining from the four that had recorded all those hits during the 1960s. The song itself was actually co-written by another member from those successful years in the 60s, Bob Gaudio, who left the group in 1972 as a performer but continued to help write and produce for them.
Their new drummer, Gerri Polci sang the lead on this song, while Valli's solo only consisted of the lyric "Oh I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room, Yeah my, as I recall it ended much too soon."
Around this time, however, Valli did have a successful solo career with the songs "My Eyes Adored You", "Swearin' To God" and "Grease".

In 1960 this song was recorded by the Everly Brothers, in 1961, Roy Orbison recorded it and in 1975 Dan McCafferty of Nazareth performed it in this clip. There have been other covers over the years, but these three stand out. My favorite was Roy Orbison's. How about you?

I haven't thought about this show for years: Musical Chairs. It was a short-lived music-based game show on CBS that ran for four months in 1975. It is somewhat culturally significant because its emcee, Adam Wade, was the first black game show host.

Do you remember this show shown Saturday morning at 11:30? Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker were brought back together for the CBS comedy. They had previously starred together in the series F Troop. Columbia Pictures paid an undisclosed sum for the name 'Ghostbusters' for their own movie version.

A handful of surviving Civil War veterans from both the North and the South reunited in Gettysburg in 1938 to mark the 75th anniversary of that titanic battle. Here are some films of the goings-on. They are all heroes in my estimation.

I love her voice.. 'Poetry Man' was released in 1975, and this performance was taped in 1989, some singers only get better with age! Phoebe has remained busy through the years, but pretty much put aside her career for her daughter, Valerie, who was born with brain damage the year this song came out. Sadly, Valerie passed away last April.
