McHales Navy Intro 1960s Another of my favorite shows as a kid. I always got a kick when they'd call the Capt. Binghamton "Leadbottom".

If U Can Imagine It The first beer cans were issued with opening instructions printed on the side. They were opened similar to how you would open a can of tomato juice today. These early cans, known as flat tops, were produced into the mid-1960s...

The Great Garloo by Marx Toys 1962 A really cool classic toy from the 60s produced by Marx Toys. Garloo was a very large battery operated that retailed for a whopping $17.98 in 1961! That was a ton of money! You can steer Garloo with the little steering wheel on the remote control on his battery box, move him forward or backward, open or close his arms and make him bend over to pic up objects. Marx also put out a 3 inch metal and plastic wind-up called Son of Garloo.

The Great Garloo by Marx 1960s A 1961 commercial for The Great Garloo by Marx toys. This toy is hot and collectors go nuts over them even if they don't work. Notice the price at the end. It must have floored most parents! See the pictures I have of this toy and his son from my collection.

Theme Building LAX This is the famous "Theme Building" at the Los Angeles International Airport. This restaurant was designed in the early 1960's, when L.A. was still new and hope for the future abounded. Everyone thought the future would be just like "The Jetsons". The building was recently refurbished, and now the interior is intentionally retro-60's.

Tiger Joe by Deluxe Reading Toy Corporation Credit to drapersmokes Another great big Deluxe Reading Toy from the 60's sold atop grocery store shelves. You could actually put talcum powder into the tank barrel to simulate smoke. I had one of these babies as a kid!
