Jackie Gleason on Whats My Line Jackie Gleason was the mystery challenger on the March 8, 1953 edition of What's My Line. Amazingly, he has the panel stumped for quite a long time. I guess he wasn't yet the showbiz legend in 1953 that he later became.

Marciano Walcott Rematch 1953 Rocky Marciano makes quick work of Jersey Joe Walcott in their eagerly awaited heavyweight title rematch in 1953. Marciano had taken the title from Walcott with a spectacular 13th-round knockout in Philadelphia in 1952. The rematch, as you will see, is no contest. Marciano wins easily despite Walcott's claim of a quick count.

And then there was Sheena Queen of the Jungle Although actress Irish McKenna got the title role in 1953, Anita Ekberg was originally to star, but backed out at the last minute when her contract was bought up by John Wayne's production company, Batjac Productions. Debra Paget also tested for the role.
