Her playing career was not the complete dismal failure as some believe: she did reach # 8 in the WTA and won a major doubles championship was Martina Hingis. Ankle and back problems kept her becoming a top singles player. But she sure looked good trying!!

For what it's worth, I've always thought The Hymn of the Soviet Union was the catchiest national anthem I've ever heard--and I'm about as anti-communist as one can be.
