Based on what I've learned as a small-time coin collector, the obverse and reverse are two different sides. I believe the obverse of a coin is the side with the head on it. The reverse is the other side.

With all respect, you're the only person I know who would use the word obverse instead of reverse.

My mom saved a few of these thinking they would become collectors items someday and her grandson would be rich lol. She also saved 20 Kennedy half-dollars, first issue, for the same reason. I've still got them.

In Canada, when we introduced dollar coins in 1987, we stopped making dollar bills. People didn't like them at first, but they got used to them. They had to!
