1960s / Beatles Butcher Album Cover
When The Beatles' 1966 album Yesterday And Today was first released, it featured this grisly cover photo with the Fab Four clad in butchers' smocks posed among dismembered dolls and slabs of meat. The public outcry was swift. Some radio stations refused to play any of the album's songs. The albums were recalled after only one day on the shelves and had a different photo pasted on the cover. Recently an unpasted copy of this album sold for more than $10,000. ![]()
