How could anyone not recognize that face? I'll bet I've seen every one of her films, and a few several times, my favorites, Old Acquaintance, Jezebel, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte, I could go on all day.

Yes, knew her right away! One of the truly great American actresses. After she was quite elderly and infirm,she once was quoted as saying:
Old age is not for sissies!
