ah, don't u miss a good ol' family restaurant where u could get a booth OR sit at the counter and be entertained! The Mission is a classic California Coffee Shop in an area starved for Time Machines. Very affable Hispanic staff and good food. Everything you would want in a good old Coffee Shop. Good place to stop going or coming from points East of Los Angeles [888 West Mission Boulevard, Pomona, CA 91766-1443 (909) 629-6412]

i liked to sit at the counter . . it was great, if u were bored, u just watched them cook and were totally entertained! (sort of like reading the cereal box at the kitchen table, doesn't take much to keep me occupied!! LOL)

I think these retro retaurants should be making a comeback. There are a few in my area (all decorated with posters and photos from the 1950s and 1960s) and they seem to be doing great.

There still are plenty of mom and pop diners like these around with good ole fashion cooking and great service.
