The Diving Horses of Atlantic City “Ladies and Gentleman, Dimah the Wonder Horse is going to dive into this small tank of water. Her rider Miss Olive Gelnaw will guide Dimah during her sixty-foot drop in to the tank. Now we need you to be very quiet, it takes all of her concentration to get it right, or they will miss the tank and fall to their death in the ocean.”

How did people dream this stuff up as attractions?

I can't imagine Steve, but apparently they weren't concerned about the well-being of the poor horse. The diving horses came to an end in 1978, when the Steel Pier was bought by Resorts International, and was shut down. Thankfully, the last two diving horses were saved by an animal protection society.

Wow! That's so cruel! And to think they got away doing this for so many years! Mind boggling. Wonder how many jumps they got out of these poor horses. I'm sure the horse didn,t willingly, more like pushed off!

I wonder how many horses they lost on the first jump scaring them to death?
