The Beatles performed this on their second Ed Sullivan Show appearance, February 16, 1964. They played six songs on the show that night, and this provided a slow change of pace from the up-tempo songs like 'She Loves You' and 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand.' The Beatles were just beginning their breakthrough here and got a huge audience from this show.

WOW ! IVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS WONDERFUL SONG. THE HARMONIES ALONE GIVE ME CHILLS; I CANT IMAGINE WHAT OUR CULTURE WOULD BE HAD THE BEATLES NOT MADE THE SCENE.
I CANT THINK OF A SINGLE SONG THEY DID THAT I DONT LIKE.
THEY ARE TRULY A GIANT PART OF OUR MUSIC HISTORY.
