The whole country sacrificed for the war effort. I don't think we can ever do it again industrial wise let alone coming together for a long period of time.

Unfortunately Steve, I believe you're correct in that thought. At the time you speak of, most of the country backed the war efforts, now it seems the country is divided.

Fascinating clip. If the date is correct, it shows America was preparing for war even before Pearl Harbor was attacked. I believe the production of civilian automobiles immediately ceased once America entered the war.
