A little trivia:
Originally called The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, it ran from 1968-1970.
Some of the cast were already well known on television...ventriloquist Paul Winchell; Alan Melvin from Sgt Bilko fame, who later on played Barney on All in the Family; Johnathan Harris from Lost in Space; puppeteer Shari Lewis (Lambchop); and child actor Jay North, the original Dennis the Menace.
