I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for this wonderful man. Bob Keeshan was only 28 when this show began, and he pretty much grew into the character of Captain Kangaroo, in time he no longer needed makeup to look older!

While most network shows were broadcast in color by the mid 1960's, CBS didn't convert the Captain's early morning program to color until 1969.
