Remember seeing an interview where the Beatles said that the crowd were that loud they couldn't even hear what they were playing and if you look you can see this in the face of the policeman as they are introduced. Always knew New Yorkers were loud but yowzaa.

Security certainly has changed! Do Not Cross barriers were pretty much respected. Wouldn't expect that today.

I haven't been to a concert in a long time, but the Inflation Calculator on this sites links says in $6 is worth over $40 today times 55,000 in attendance is two and a quarter million todays dollars.

Call me a fuddy-duddy, but I'm not sure how enjoyable a concert would be for me personally if I had to endure 55,000 people screaming throughout every song. I'd actually like to be able to hear the Beatles sing.

I wonder how the police and security personnel would have dealt with several hundred people simultaneously charging through the do-not-cross barriers.

Geez, if the average aged person was 18 at this concert, then they would be 61 today!! Hard to believe.
