Shirley Temple Black, my favorite movie star ever, quietly celebrated her 80th birthday today (April 23, 2008). This photo is from 2006 when she was given a lifetime achievement award by the Screen Actors Guild. I'd recognize that face anywhere!

Gosh she has been in the public eye so long I would have thought her to be older or dead by now! Glad she's still going strong!

Glad to report Shirley's in good health--except for a painful broken arm she recently suffered at her California home. Shirley is now a widow; her husband, Charles Black, passed away a couple of years ago. I would love to meet this remarkable woman!

Looks good for 80 I wonder if any kids today even know of Shirley. What a talent, and made it through the kid years Awesome.
