She was called The First Lady of Song, and was so deserving of the title. She was wonderful, I remember hearing that voice over the radio at home, my parents and I both liked the same music for a few years. Songwriter Ira Gershwin once said 'I never knew how good our songs were until I heard Ella Fitzgerald sing them!'
