Oh no..I'm in total shock over this. It's terribly sad news, although somewhat expected as he was suffering for a long time. I'd had the good fortune to be in contact with him in the mid 70's, what a wonderful actor and a great man. He always appreciated his fans and went out of his way to make them happy. Rest In Peace Chuck.
As we all get older stars of this calibre become fewer. This man will be remembered by generations who will never have been around in his life time. A loss to all who grew up watching his epic movies and he'd have made a great Lord Wellington.
sorry to be out of step with you folks, but what was the quote? FROM MY DEAD HANDS? referring to his chairmanship of the NRA! I don't think it's much of a loss at all actually! Of course i'm standing by for flack of all sorts, but i am unanimous in my assessment (a joke).As for his acting? just so-so.
