When ever we went downtown we ate at Woolworth's snack bar. They had the best chicken salad sandwiches anywhere. With chips and cherry coke. They didn't have Dr Pepper on fountain yet.

Hey tommy, better let me in on that, I was a real whizz when it came to identifying cars, did it all the time on the road trips from NY to Fla in the 50s, and I was only an 8 yr old at the time!

And speaking of Woolworths, does anyone remember those great tasting Corndogs they made!! Man oh man they were good!!

The Woolworth's Estate Shadow Lawn is in Long Branch NJ.Woodrow Wilson stayed there and did alot of work there during WWI I believe he purchased it.It was donated and is now part of the Monmouth University Campus (6 other Presidents vacationed there also Long Branch).No corndogs in my area then.My first escape from reality throwing off my equilibrium.By spinning on the stools,Great banana splits and ice cream sodas!
