I agree this was a really bad performance, but what really ticks me off is Simon Cowell. This is the most obnoxious sob I've ever come across on tv. I can only hope that one day someone will publicly humiliate him as he has done to so many others.

I think Simon's job is to give an honest opinion of each performance. Those who audition for this show do so with the knowledge that Simon will be bluntly honest. That's showbiz!

There's a huge difference between being honest and bordering on cruel.

I admire your comments, Naomi. They're bluntly honest!

Most is just publicity for the show, remember last year with Sanjaya? It's just another way to get publicity on all the tv shows, print and internet all for free.

Maybe it's just me, but I think I'd rather have someone like Simon tell me in no uncertain terms that I'm lousy at something than be polite and give me a false sense of hope. If that same blunt person gives me priase, then I know it's sincere.

Not me Lava...not in front of an audience and millions of viewers. Lie like a dog, just make me feel good..

I have to blame the parents and loved ones for leading them on to believe they are good enough for Idol! I wouldn't do that to my kids!

That's a good point Steve. My family has always been very honest with me when it comes to that. But at least they don't have me up on stage doing it.
