Vintage TV coverage of the seventh game of the 1952 World Series between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees. Watch Mickey Mantle belt a homer over Ebbets Field's right field wall! Tags:WorldSeriesbaseball Added: 6th March 2008 Views: 399 Rating: Posted By:Lava1964
Back in the early 1990s, a sports channel in Canada showed a series of classic baseball games during the winter. One of them was from the 1952 World Series. I don't remember if it was game seven or an earlier game, but I do recall the host of the show saying it was the oldest complete TV broadcast of a baseball game known to exist. So this might really be historically valuable.
I have seen the game on ESPN Classic. Billy Martin broke up a rally with a great catch and left handed reliever Bob Kasava came in to save it (if you get a chance to watch the game, take a close look at Kasava --- he used a spitter to fool the Dodger batters!).
