Here's another defunct restaurant chain that I miss: Mother's Pizza. The one in my hometown had a real 1920s atmosphere. They showed silent movies and had lots of cool antiques as decorations. The food was great too! Dennis Weaver did this commercial for Mother's sometime in the early 1980s.

It's after 11pm here, and the time of night when I'm usually starving but won't eat because it's too late....that food looks so good!! And now I want some PASTA!

Mother's Pizza restaurants were also famous for serving ice cream sodas in take-home collectable glasses with a 1920s look to them. They are apparently much sought after by collectors. I had four or five at one time. They all broke years ago.
