California Stanford 1982 It was the wildest play in the history of college football. (Okay, it was the wildest play in the history of sports!) On November 20, 1982, on the final play of the Cal-Stanford game, the Golden Bears improvise their way to a touchdown through the Stanford defense--and the school's marching band!

Stanford fans maintain the Cal ball-carrier's knee hit the ground near the 50-yard line. It's a very close call. On the other hand, the Stanford band had no business being on the field, so I don't have a lot of sympathy for Stanford.
