there was a 'cruelty joke' that was
circulatingaroundtheneighborhood after
the mass suicide at Jonestown in the
late 70s (or early80s, anyway). The
joke had it that The Rev. Jim Jones had
put cyanide in the tub and hollered 'HEY,
KOOL-AID!' and out of the jungle came a
rumbling cry of...
...'Ohhhh. YEEEAAAAHHHH!'
...man, the incredible memories!
If memory serves me right--and it usually does--the Jim Jones mass suicide in Guyana occurred in 1979. Purple Kool-Aid was reported to be the flavor used in the suicide drinks.
