According to an interview I saw with Jamie Farr, he was very nearly ready to give up acting in the early 1970s when MASH came along. He claims he was down to a few groceries in his apartment when he got called to make what was supposed to be a one-time appearance on MASH as the cross-dressing Corporal Klinger. He stayed 11 years.

I loved this show,mainly becaise I watched it with my dad and used to love to hear him laugh. He just loved Larry Storch! I wish I could hear him laughing again.
