Price is Right With all the buzz about Bob Barker's retirement they said he was the only host for the show, this proves it false since Bill Cullen did it first.

That's why Bob Barker's version was called the New Price Is Right for a while.

Cullen's version of TPIR was more intellectual.

Remakes of game shows tend to be dumbed down. Ever seen Match Game from the 1960s? It was way more challenging than the 1970s version. However, the 1970s version was proably more fun.

Dear Cliffy,

Yes!

I know that Mr.Barker was

not the first host ofThe Price Is

Right!.

The show originally began on

The NBC TV Network 50 years ago

with Mr.Bill Cullen as the first host.

The Price Is Right!was seen

weekday mornings on NBC and later

on ABC TV from 1957 to the 1960's.

When the series returned on CBS TV

in the fall of 1972.

Mr.Bob Barker became the show's

second and most memorable mc.

There were syndicated nighttime

versions in the 1970's and 80's mc'd by

The late Mr.Dennis James,Mr.Tom Kennedy

(The tv game show mc not the movie

comic/character actor) and by Mr.Barker

too.

But?

The first and most memorable Mc

ofTPIR always will be Mr.Bill Cullen.

Mr.Cullen could not have hosted

the 1970's-2007 version ofThe Price

Is Right?

Because he would have to be on his

feet during the entire show.

Mr.Cullen was disabled by polio

and he had to be sitting alot of

the time.

He didn't want his audiences to

see him limping on the set.

He also passed away in 1990

from Lung Cancer(Sadly Mr.Cullen

smoked Too many damn cigerettes

and his smoking finally caught up

with him)
