Our Gang She was a darling both on the show and years beyond. The way she died was typical of most of the cast. Theres lots of trivia here. Too much for me. They called it the curse our Gang.

This happened 3 times last night. load a pic not there. Dont know what the deal is. Oh well Theres Farina they called him.Had a beautiful pic of Darla!

Don't fret Marty, I've come to your rescue lol BTW, I looked at the photo and had to think twice when I saw the name Darla Hood!

- ALFALFA Carl Switzer was shot to death at age 31.
- CHUBBY 300-pound Norman Chaney died at age 22 following an operation.

- DARLA HOOD The Our Gang leading lady contracted hepatitis and died at age 47.
- BRISBANE Kendall McCormas, known as Breezy Brisbane, committed suicide at age 64.
- MICKEY DANIELS He died of liver disease at 55.
- STYMIE Mathew Bear led a life of crime and drugs. He died of a stroke at age 56.
- SCOTTY BECKETT He died at age 38 following a brutal beating.
- WHEEZER Robert Hutchins was killed in an airplane accident at age 19.
- PETE THE PUP He was poisoned by an unknown assailant.
- BUTCH Currently lives in California.
- and SPANKY?....a used car salesman, recently died in Texas.
- and Robert Blake was just acquitted of murdering his wife.
You didn't know that was Robert Blake Did you? Robert Blake, Born Mickey Gubitosi was indeed on Our Gang.

Naomi I was trying to figure out with a triv wiz what Robert Blakes name was? I came up with Bobby on the show is that correct??

Here ya go tommy:
Robert Blakes real name was Mickey Gubitosi. His acting career began when he appeared as Toto in the MGM movie Bridal Suite in 1939, starring Annabella and Robert Young. Gubitosi then began appearing in MGM's Our Gang short subjects under his real name, replacing Eugene Porky Lee. He appeared in 40 of the shorts between 1939 and 1944, eventually becoming the series' final lead character. James and Jovanni Gubitosi also made appearances in the series as extras.
During his early Our Gang period, Gubitosi's character, Mickey, was often called upon to cry, and the young actor has been noted by some film critics as having been unsubtle and unconvincing. In 1942, he acquired the stage name Bobby Blake, and his character in the series was renamed Mickey Blake. In 1944, MGM discontinued Our Gang, releasing the final short in the series, Dancing Romeo, on April 29.

Sadly Tommy (Butch) Bond is no longer with us. He died in 2005 at age 79.
Spanky McFarland actually died quite a few years ago--on June 30, 1993--at age 64, not long after making a cameo appearance on the sitcom Cheers.
My sources say Norman (Chubby) Chaney was only 18 when he died in 1936.

WOW!now Mickey does come to mind.They don't play them here politically incorrect.We had a VCR box set from years ago they only state the names mickey,bobby,buckwheat, etc...I gave it away to someone?no references now. I don't trust internet info often.but they never said who was who just a large group shot.They were REMARKABLE in grade school growing up.
