1927 Our Gang silent movie The Our Gang/Little Rascals films began in 1922 during the silent-movie era. Here is the first six minutes of a rare 1927 film called Ten Years Old. No chance these will ever air again. What kid today would watch a silent black-and-white movie?

Indeed, Birthday Blues certainly borrowed liberally from the cake-making scene.

By the way, the star of this film, Joe Cobb, lived to be 85. He died in 2002.
