If you bought a ticket to see the first-ever public exhibition of motion pictures, in a Parisian cafe in 1895, this is one of the short films you saw: The Arrival of A Train at La Ciotat. According to a popular urban legend, the audience apparently shrieked in horror when the train got closer, thinking it was coming through the screen at them.
