Lake's biggest year in films was 1942, when she starred in a string of hit films for Paramount, including Sullivan's Travels, This Gun for Hire, and I Married a Witch... i saw here in "I Married A Witch" and she was GREAT. . really tiny, too. . .i wondered if this is where they got the idea for "Bewitched."

I remember my dad telling me that she wound up a drunk who frequented a certain bar in Miami in the early 60's.
He and a co-worker used to stop off for a cold beer after work and she would always be there.
