Another reason I'm glad I was a teenager in the 60's!

The organ appears to be something the Church Lady would have loved. Can you imagine what they could have done with today's equipment?

I have a Casio keyboard I don't play keyboard at all! a Magnus in the 60's was the last. With the programmed internal songs, rhythms everything you can imagine! The keys light up so you know where to place your fingers and you can slow it down to learn at your own pace. And it wasn't expensive.A blind man could do it.(sorry Stevie Wonder)perhaps a caveman?

Marty. For all these recent posts, you deserve five stars. So many memories, so many great tunes.

I was 17 when that came out ... GREAT SONG! Babs64 ... you're right ... we were fortunate to have experienced a splendid musical era.

FYI (being a musician going back to 1964), that LOOKS like the core of a Vox Jaguar electronic organ ... the give away is the lower third of the keys are reversed in color and they were still popular at that point. He may have had a custom skirt built or something.

Unusual for a group of the Doors magnitude is that they had no bass player ... the keyboard player used a Fender Rhodes Piano Bass keyboard instead (and obviously it was effective) ... you can see it sitting atop (to the left) on the Vox keyboard. Fender Rhodes keyboards (all of them) were constructed primarily from surplus aircraft parts from WWII!

There ya go! Pop quiz at 2:00!

Everyone have heard the story about the producer asked The Doors to change the the word in Light My Fire because higher was supposed to have meant drug use. The Doors didn't and the producer told them they would be on Sullivan to which Jim replied, We just did the Sullivan show.
