This film was so popular when it was released that it played for over a year in one New York City theatre that had more than 2,000 seats. It was shown at least twice a day too!

Did you know that Richard Arlen, whose character is a fighter pilot, had actually been a pilot in World War I, though he never saw combat.

In contrast to their co-star Arlen, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers did not know how to fly a plane when production began, but he learned how to do so by the end of it. In the close-up scenes where Jack and David are flying, the actors are actually working the planes themselves. To shoot these scenes, the actors had to get the plane up in the air, keep it up, turn on the motorized camera and land the plane--and act at the same time!

Interesting...I didn't know that.

I know that Wings was famous for its aerial combat scenes thatstill hold up today. I guess the authenticity of the actors helped here.

I have a VHS copy of this movie. I haven't watched it in years. I swear the chocolate bar that Cooper tosses onto the bed in my copy of the movies is a Hershey bar. I wonder if Hershey paid to have later copies of the film doctored.
