It was supposed to cure gonorrhea,and used as a floor cleaner and women even douched with it in it's beginings.Until they suffered burns.OUCH!

That had to be the worst tasting mouthwash ever! I know it's still being sold, but because of the memory of that awful taste I'd never buy it.
