Meccano is a model construction kit invented in 1901 by Frank Hornby comprising re-usable metal strips, plates, angle girders, wheels, axles and gears, with nuts and bolts to connect the pieces. It is a versatile constructional medium enabling the building of a variety of working models and mechanical devices.

Wow. Just think that these Products were still produce. Over a 100 years after the first sets. talk about standing the test of time.

I remember making things with Meccano which my dad had when he was a kid, some of which he had inherited from his dad!

We had these in the US and the were called Erector Sets. I had many, and many cuts from the edges! But they were great and probably the big reason I am mechanically inclined to this day!
