This game launched the broadcasting career of Dick Stockton who called the homer. (He was a rookie Red Sox broadcaster in 1975. At the time NBC augmented their World Series telecasts and radio coverage with broadcasters from each team--something that ought to be done today, in my opinion.) It is also credited for rekindling the overall interest in baseball.

I think the ballpark security folks take their jobs more seriously now than 40 years ago. (Think of the two teens who rounded the bases with Hank Aaron when he broke Babe Ruth's home run record. Think of the youth who jumped onto the field at Yankee Stadium to congratulate Roger Maris in 1961.)
