Bill Cosby Toothpaste Commercial 1970 Bill Cosby promotes Crest toothpaste in this commercial from 1970. Crest was the primary sponsor of The Bill Cosby Show, a largely forgotten sitcom that aired on NBC for two seasons from 1969 through 1971 in which Cosby played a high-school gym teacher.

Bill Cosby's career is over. Kaput. that was unthinkable even a few years ago. Still I'd still rather be Bill Cosby than Jared from the Subway commercials.

At one time Bill Cosby was voted the most popular man in America. To put that in perspective, so was O.J. Simpson.

Bill Cosby's sudden fall from grace is sad. What bothers me is that Cosby was one of the most outspoken critics who dared identify the pervading societal woes in the inner-city black communities. All his points were valid. Since he's been discredited, people will assume his criticisms are not valid. (Which is similar to saying that if a murderer says two plus two equals four, we shouldn't believe him because he's a murderer.)
