I don't think Hitler would have been captured alive under any circumstances. Even if the Russians had been entering the bunker Hitler would have instructed his followers to kill him rather than be taken by the Russians.

Actually, Hitler's suicide by a firearm was considered a soldierly way to end one's life. The Russians initially announced that Hitler has poisoned himself, which was considered a coward's way out. (That was how Eva Braun had ended her life.) All the survivors of the bunker verified that Hitler had died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
