My choice for the best Warner Bros. cartoon ever made: One Froggy Evening (1955). It's the story of greed, disappointment, a shattered life--and the devious singing frog responsible for it all. Tags:OneFroggyEveningcartoon Added: 8th October 2007 Views: 419 Rating: Posted By:Lava1964
These Warner Bros. cartoons are artistic masterpieces. Too bad the ones shown on TV today have been edited to the point where they're almost unwatchable.
Not counting the opera aria, all the songs but one were legitimate old standards from the 1900 to 1920 era. The Michigan Rag, however, was written specially for this cartoon.
The frog didn't have a name until many years after the cartoon was released on December 31, 1955. An interviewer asked Chuck Jones what the frog's name was. Jones made up Michigan J. Frog on the spot. The name stuck.
The names on the cornerstones of the buildings were the last names of Warner Bros. employees.
Steven Spielberg called this the Citizen Kane of cartoons.
