Supertrain Anyone remember Supertrain? NBC had high hopes for this TV series about an atomic-powered train that could travel across the country in 36 hours. It had one of the most expensive sets ever designed for a TV series. Vacillating between comedy and drama, the series never attracted much of a following. It lasted only five months before being derailed in 1979. Here are the show's opening credits.

One of the many shows from the brain of Fred Silverman.

I never watched this show either. Based on the opening credits, it looks like a ripoff of Love Boat to me.

They could've called it The Love Train.

As goofy as it is, would LOVE to see a remake of SuperTrain (and the Big Bus too). The tech today would make it a lot easier to do, public transportation is making a comeback, and there is enuff niche programming channels out there to guarantee ratings for the ones who make the leap (are you listening, SyFy?)
